Excuse my while I search for extensionalism through my keyboard....
Life is such an interesting thing to me. Not interesting, thats the wrong word. Just different, intriguing; no thats not quite write either. Adventure? Yea I guess thats it, its like being in an adventure, and the journey is hard, their are long hikes, sometimes its unbearably hot, sometimes its unbelievable cold, but most of the time its not that bad, you stop and enjoy the scenery, see new interesting things, have great conversation with friends and acquaintances around you, but its an adventure, and hardships are to be expected. I think that some times we forget that. We forget that there is an adventure to finish, we get to caught up in the momentary pain and hardship we're feeling right now. That's what always got to me, it was easy to get caught up in, I don't mean just feeling worried you might have to postpone your adventure, I mean really wrapped up in it, and in the end it doesn't mean anything, its those conversations with friends, the scenic views, you look back at an adventure, and sure you remember that really hot day you hiked that big hill and ran out of water. But you NEVER forget that view when you get there. Which leads me to the last problem. Getting there. Some people never do, maybe they die, maybe they give up, maybe they just don't get it. I've been thinking a lot lately about how fortunate I am, I found someone to share my adventure with and she's great, I have friends that have been on the adventure with me from the beginning, and thats when you find out who your friends are. The guy who's willing to go that extra mile with you, hang back and even carry you. Its not just friendship, its not being nice, its just real. Its just the way it is. I never quite got that. But I think I have now, not that I know everything, but I think I'm a little wiser these days, unfortunately a lot of that came at the cost of others, being an idiot can cause you problems, oh well, what do I know. I think I'm just feeling old because I'll be 25 next week, a quarter of a century old, I hope when I look back on this, I'll laugh, and I'll say man, I'm still one lucky idiot.
