So I got the latest Nelly Furtado album...after the first play through I was asking myself....why? I'm really really disappointed. I've been a pretty good fan since "Whoa, Nelly!" was released back in 2000. Not only is she one of the most beautiful women ever, but her voice is just plain captivating for me. I've heard others say she sounds a bit like nails on a chalk board, well they're wrong, trust me. So anyway, like an idiot, I got this album without listening to the entire thing. I should have known better with names like Timbaland and Attitude featured there, but I thought it might make a nice mix of Furtado's lyrics with some decent Hip-Hop beats. Unfortunatly, the lyrics suck. That is the single most disappointing point here, with the exception of the track "Afraid". I kinda liked those, but thats about as far as it goes. She really used to have some nice meaningful lyrics, you could they reflected who she was, and what was on her mind.
Anyway what I'm getting at, and I guess it was inevitable, is that Furtado has totally sold out, trading her unique sound and good lyrics for total mediocore crap. I was hoping for some hip-hop injection, not a total sell out. Well enough ranting......but that is why Nelly Furtado and her new album "Loose", totally suck. There are no comments for this post yet.
